ARTIST: Hilary Clark & Nicole Daunic

Join us for a hybrid meandering walk/informal showing/mini-workshop as we share, discuss and guide participants through simple practices (no experience required) developed during our time learning from and thinking with tree stumps and mycelial networks throughout Black Hole Hollow. We will explore practices of listening, attention, and speculative movement that support ways of perceiving/feeling/imagining-otherwise relationships of care that include the more-than-human in complex webs of interdependence.

About the artist

2024 Another Audience Artists Hilary Clark and Nicole Daunic are dancers.

Their process draws upon their individual and collaborative research on the embodied intelligence, creative process and critical capacities of dancers. Proposing forms of dance-making that emerge through relational attunements and co-mingling navigations of decentralized, heterogeneous tensions, desires, and human and nonhuman forces, they situate their practice in the middle of ambiguous atmospheres and zones of indeterminacy in order to foreground a reverence for the excess, multiplicity, and over-abundance of any experience.

Accessibility

We encourage anyone interested in coming who may need accessibility support to reach out in advance to hello@blackholehollow.org or call (917)499-9030. We encourage participants to bring a support person to accompany them as we navigate different terrain.

Parking

Parking is available about 20 feet from the main entrance to Black Hole Hollow. There is a gravel road with a slight downward incline from the parking area to the main entrance. If this is not accessible for your needs, guests can also park in the main driveway, which is closer to the gathering space.

While we have the intention to expand our capacity to support expanded accessibility, we apologize that at this time we are not able to offer ASL support and do not have ADA compliant spaces. We are open to any conversations that might ensure your ability to participate.

COVID Protocol:

This event will take place outdoors. In the interest of supporting those with compromised immune systems we will enforce COVID protocol such as mask wearing depending on COVID levels at the time of the event.
