talks, deep listening, performance, music, and more
Another Audience will host an interspecies listening event oriented through the sonic field of toad amplexus and the nonhuman temporalities and spatialities it produces. Join us at Black Hole Hollow to experience the sonic wonder of the toads’ durational ecstatic drone.
Amphibians have maintained a presence within the careful balance of Earth’s ecosystems for 400 million years. Currently, their threatened livelihoods are on the frontlines of the climate crisis and the Sixth Extinction due to rising temperatures and habitat loss. Join us as we come together to witness, grieve, and collectively archive vulnerable sounds of disappearance by our anuran kin while also celebrating and uplifting their stories.
All are invited to gather in a practice of collective listening to sounds of the phonocene and speculatively think and imagine with the toads. With as little impact on the toads as possible, this convening will offer talks, guided deep listening practices, performance, music, and more.
